This paper hummingbird by artist Cheong-ah Hwang is but only one example of her amazing ability to craft realistic 3D figures using nothing but paper. 

The effect is achieved by a unique method of folding, cutting and layering the paper that Cheong-ah came up with on her own, and I have to say it takes papercraft to a whole new level
